Setting Goals

Our original goal was to ship our boat down to Florida from Connecticut,  work on her for 3 weeks in the yard, and then get the H out of dodge. Almost 4 months later it is pretty clear that wasn’t a very realistic goal for us. Since then, we’ve been pretty hesitant to publicize some of our goals – until now. I need the support and accountability. I need to scream our goal from the top of my mast!

So, what’s this goal of ours you say? Well, in light of our ultimate goal of getting the H out of dodge, this goal is to help us get there. Our goal is to put Chance in the water by May 1st. There, I said it. It feels good to get that off my chest. That means we have a mere week to finish up all the building and reattaching of deck hardware. We have a lot to do, but we are determined. Once Chance is in the water (which will be the first time in over 10 years!) we’ll spend a few days making adjustments and prepping to sail off. Wish us luck!

Also, be sure to check out my feature on Uncommon Caribbean. Once we actually do leave this country I’ll be writing on their site more frequently and sharing some of our adventures. It’s a really cool site, especially if you are in the need of some severe Caribbean wanderlust.
