Tales from our Captain: Florida Edition

3

It is weird sharing updates about the journey of our boat when we are not the ones sailing it up. I can’t confess my brilliant 4am musings from my second shift of night watch. I can’t tell you whether or not I was super seasick and vomiting. I can’t make you jealous with all the beautiful sunshine and perfect wind we’re getting. I am experiencing this trip just like you are, through pictures. So, I will share with you some of my favorite shots and text messages we’ve gotten along her way through Florida. Man they sure do get me excited for her to get up here!

“And she’s off. Leaving Clearwater to start her trek down and around the Florida Keys.”

“Booking it at 11 knots up the Gulf Stream as the sun rises. This girl sails like a dream”

The deck of our Vagabond from the bow. Damn she’s pretty.

“This photo makes it look much nicer out than it really is. 20 – 25 knots with higher gusts and two straight days of rain.”

It appears our boat has been a nest for all sorts of stowaways and critters and all this sailing has riled them up. Love bugs (left), pigeons, other birds (right) and tons of roaches so far. Yuck!

Tied up at a dock in Ft Pierce as she waits out 35 ft waves.

Almost out of Florida, waiting for the bridge to open in St. Augustine
