So I mentioned to you a while back about our genius plan to have the boat shipped down to Florida so we’d be more comfortable and not have to sail in the cold weather. The boat was scheduled to make its way down to Florida from Connecticut just a day after we arrived in Florida from our road trip. Well that didn’t happen as we hoped. A long story short – our original shipper took a very unprofessional turn and didn’t end up moving our boat after all. This really put a crimp in our plans. We now had to find a new shipper during the busy holiday season and figure out how to survive in Florida when all our flip flops and shorts were safely stored in your boat. Oh, the horror!
Our boat is now scheduled to leave its Connecticut home on January 3rd and we couldn’t be more excited! We’ve both been extremely anxious to get working on boat projects again that move us closer to our departure. While we couldn’t be more thankful for my mom allowing us to stay at her house for the extra month, we want to get moving! We’ve still got a long list of “to-dos” and “to-buys,” but we hope to be on the water for good towards the end of January.
While 2012 was the year of preparation for our journey, I declare 2013 the year of adventure! So on this first day of 2013 our new year resolutions have changed slightly since years past. This year we’re after more sleep and less stress; more adventures and less “one days;” more holas and less hellos; and living, learning and loving the places we discover along the way. Now, if we could only get our boat here!
Wishing everyone a happy and fulfilling 2013!
